Twilight Princess delayed, new screens
on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 by Spit
The release date of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for GameCube has been postponed to 2006. Although no specific release date has been mentioned by Nintendo officials, it was made clear that the game will be released sometime after March 31 2006 according to a spokesperson's statements in an interview with IGN.com . The reason for the delay is said to be the development team's request for more time to work on the title, adding "more depth and even higher quality to Zelda: Twilight Princess".

Behind the scenes
on Saturday, June 13, 2005 by Barry
As it may appear that Zelda Central has been dead, it's quite the opposite. Here at ZC we've been working greatly on getting ZC over to another server -- and we're almost done.

Meanwhile, the Forest Haven, Zelda Central's forums, had exceeded the 10,000 members and 100,000 posts marks.

I've been having quite a hard time accessing the ftp from home, so that explains my lack of posts. We should be on the other server very, very soon along with new features, so please be patient with us and hope for a smooth transfer.

E3 2005: Nintendo roundtable
on Tuesday, May 18, 2005 by spit
During a Nintendo roundtable today more information about the Twilight Princess was revealed:

There will be a kind of light/dark world element in the game. The twilight represents the dark and evil spreading throughout the world of Hyrule. Some puzzles will require you to go back and forth through through the two worlds much like time travelling did in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Midna, the magical and mystical person/creature seen riding on Link's back while he is in wolf form, was originally an enemy, but teams up with Link to fight a common enemy.

It was confirmed that Link is able to communicate with animals and that they can teach him abilities. The size of the game is said to be much larger than Ocarina of Time, and features more dungeons than Ocarina of Time. The game will feature orchestrated music, but only in places and situations where the directors feel it will enchance the gaming experience.

E3 2005: Zelda trailer, screens and info
on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 by spit
A new wave of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess screenshots and official artwork have just surfaced on the internet.
The entrie E3 2005 Zelda trailer is now avaiable to the public! (Quicktime format, Nintendo's official Zelda pages). See links below.

Quoted description of the game from Nintendo's own www.zelda.com:
"When an evil shadow stretches from the heart of Hyrule to its peaceful borderlands, a young farm boy named Link must awaken the hero within and stand tall in defense of his village. Lead Link and his beloved steed into battle against hordes of foul creatures with an incredible horseback combat system, then take on massive bosses that have to be seen to be believed. The last ray of hope for a dying realm, Link finds himself on an epic journey that will challenge him endlessly and transform him in ways unimaginable."

So, it has been confirmed that the story does takes place in Hyrule as expected, Link is now a young farm boy, and sets out to defend his village. He will be transformed (if you have seen the trailer, you might remember Link transforming into a wolf), and the realm is dying, as usual :). Very interesting information indeed.

The release date for the game remains unchanged on the www.zelda.com web pages, quote: "Release Date: Holiday 2005", though there was no word on this during the Nintendo E3 press conference.

E3 2005: Welcome to the revolution!
on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 by spit
The frist few images of the Nintendo Revolution have arrived!

There you go! The new home for the Zelda series and future Nintendo gaming. Read more info on it in an USA Today article posted today at: http://www.usatoday.com. The Nintendo Revolution (I assume this is the name of the machine, as this is printed on the side of it) is said to have 2-3 times the power of the Nintendo GameCube, sports DVD playback, wireless compabilities, and backwards compabilities with the GC (plays GC games as well as the new Nintendo revolution DVD format. It is said that online play is for free. Nintendo officials state that their new machine is not all power, what matters is what you do with it. Please do note the very sleek design, and the fact that the machine is no bigger than 3 DVD covers stacked on top of each other. We will have more news and pictures as it breaks, so stay tuned!

REDMOND, Wash., May 10, 2005 - Nintendo is partnering with IGN Entertainment to create an innovative network for portable video games that is not only expansive but also extremely easy for everyone to use. Set to debut later this year, the wireless service for Nintendo DS™ will use IGN's GameSpy Technology to let people around the world link easily and wirelessly to play games, just as if they were playing face-to-face.

It doesn't get any easier than that."

The service will be used by a variety of upcoming games, including the previously announced Animal Crossing® DS. Other titles will be revealed in the coming weeks. Now developers can easily and confidently add advanced matchmaking, community and other multiplayer services to their Nintendo DS games," says Mark Stieglitz, general manager of IGN Entertainment's GameSpy Technology Group. Next gen Zelda news!
on Thursday, April 21, 2005 by Barry
I apologise for the lack of updates. My laziness has got the best of me.

Nintendo has closed the Pokemon Center and New York and will replacement with the "Nintendo World Store", which will feature showings of unreleased games and such.

Information is also circulating that Nintendo will not show the "Nintendo Revolution" (next gen console) at E3, unlike the competitors. Perhaps this is to have all the focus on Zelda? Or maybe to keep their plans a secret?

Alot of attention has been focused on the Nintendo DS on the reference to "future software." Right now what is being said about it is pure speculation.

Finally, Spanish magazine scans of the upcoming Zelda game have been circulating. You can view these at the gallery of our affiliate, Zelda Universe.

Next gen Zelda news!
on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 by spit
We've had an official confirmation by Nintendo saying that there actually is a Four Swords game in the making for the Nintendo DS. Although the game has previously been announced by Eji Aonuma, this is the first time we have an official Nintendo statement on this. Expect more FSDS info as soon as E3 kicks off. Source: Gamespot

According to video gaming site spong.com there'll be a bonus pre-order disk which'll come with "The Legend of Zelda". Nintendo are also said to be making three versions of the highly anticipated game, though "only" two versions are going to be released. Hopefully you can make some more sense out of these confusing news than I did. Source: Spong
